Finishing "Half of a Yellow Sun" marks the end of my Chunkster Challenge books. I wasn't very ambitious there because this is my first year doing challenges and I didn't want to overwhelm myself. Anyway, I think I'm ready for a new challenge (along with the still-going TBR challenge). So I'm joining the NYT 2006 Most Notable Books challenge. Looking at the list, I see that I've already read three of the books on the list (links are my reviews):
Black Swan Green
Half of a Yellow Sun
The Inheritance of Loss
I'm adding the following books, all of which are already on my reading list. In other words, I'm joining a challenge that just gets me in gear reading books I already want to read anyway!! Here's what I'll read from this list in the remaining months of this year:
Beasts of No Nation
The Echo Maker
Forgetfulness
The Road
Special Topics in Calamity Physics
Suite Francaise
There's a blog dedicated to this challenge - you can find it here. As soon as I'm a contributor there, I'll cross post this list to the other participants!

Woo hoo! Glad you are going to join us!!! It is a fun group over there and lots of enthusiasm and sharing going on. Looking forward to talking books with you :)
Hooray...another member! I have chosen 5 of the same books as you, but you have already read 2 of them. There's just not enough time in the day to read everything I want...when I want. :) (And now we just lost an hour!) Happy Reading!
suite francaise is the only one of those on my list right now. I don't read nearly as much as I used to but I like to look at people's lists.
hehehe good job and good choice. i am on my 2 of 3 chunkster challenges. its also my first year.
but i kinda started a challenge myself too. pretty crazy but am sooo looking forward. come check it out so you can laugh and my pain and perhaps join along.
think about it this way -
if you loose your helping a great 'cause' ( a place that provides book s for 50 cents and less to students) and if you win well then heavens! you get to brag about this for a long long time!
I checked it out, Nessie. I'm pretty much thinking "no way!". The Bronte one is the only one I think I could even approach. I'm thinking, I'm thinking....
I really just want to do it for the button.....
I am planning on reading: SUITE FRANÇAISE, when it comes out in paperback this April.
