If you live in California, and have never been to the
California International Antiquarian Book Fair, you are missing out! It rotates from year to year, one year in San Francisco and one year in Los Angeles. This year it is February 16-18. It helps to be a book collector, but you needn't be to enjoy it. I just love seeing all the book dealers, and the incredibly old, expensive books on sale. And last year, I met Ray Bradbury! So that's worth the trip in itself. Anyway, check it out.

Don't forget the smell aspect! All those old books together are likely to emit the sweetest of book perfumes -- that haunting mixture of book dust, paper, and glue.
let's go!!! (And it's the 40th one...this being the year of 40, it's a sign! :))
Join us, Jay Are. Scott is flying up around 11 a.m. and we're spending the whole day!!
It's in the wrong part of the state. :-(
Ray Bradbury attends the L.A. Times Book Festival just about every spring and I told my husband after I finished Fahrenheit 451 that we should make sure we stop in and say hi this next April. He reminded me (again--because I always forget) that we met him at our graduation from college way back when. He was one of the speakers. We got to talk with him afterwards, although I can't remember it at all. :-(
sweet!
Lit Feline: They rotate it each year, so next year it will be in L.A. I saw Ray down there last year -- don't think I'll see him this year up in S.F....
Fantastic! I'm in!
