The "Something About Me" Reading Challenge

Ok, I'll make this challenge idea I have a August or September challenge, since that is after the Non-fiction Five and some of the others are finished....

I'm working on a button....

Start thinking about some books to nominate that will "represent" who you are as a person outside the blogging world. The characters could do your career, your hobbies, live your life....or the setting could be where you live, etc.

Everyone can nominate up to 5 books that represent them (fiction or non-fiction)....then each reader will choose a list they want to read out of all the books nominated. We won't read them collectively as a group, everyone will make their own list...

Any other suggestions?? Pass the word along, as it might take people awhile to figure out what books they want to nominate for the list...

Also, we can start compiling the lists in the summer -- June or July -- so that people can choose their reading lists and be ready to start by August or Sept...

This will be fun...my mind is spinning with the possibilities for my choices!

  2. Excellent! I will post this information to my new blog A Novel Challenge (on blogger) where I am posting all the reading challenges...so hopefully that will help to send more people your way :) I think this will be really, really fun! Won't it be interesting to see if the same book(s) are nominated by different people?!??!

  3. Love this idea. I wonder if I'll be able to come up with 5 books that I feel reflect something about me. It's a good thing you're giving us a bit of time to think about it.

  4. UP to 5, booklogged! I don't think I can even come up with 5 for myself. But I don't want to restrict people too much if they feel there are a lot of facets about them that they want to put out there....

You could just have one, if that is all you want to nominate!

  11. This is a very cool idea! I thought of 1 book already that is perfect for this challenge - at least as far as it depicts the life of a missionary kid (which I am). Are we allowed to read the books that we nominate?

  12. Sure! You can also read the books you nominate...I am nominating one book for me that I haven't read yet, but I know says something about me, so I'll probably read it before - or as part of - the challenge.

  15. Wow - really different - I am going to join in this one and I have enough time to think which books will represent me. I am childlike - so I can see at least one children's book somewhere on the list.

I am happily married and interested in travel - hmm a travel book maybe?

oooh - I am going to have fun with this one.

  17. I think I'm going to drop out of this challenge. I'm swamped with other book challenges right now. I'm going to remove my book list from the other blog that you have set up. Thanks anyway.
